SUSTAINABILITY APPROACH

SUSTAINABILITY APPROACH

Our design mission is to make affordable pieces to make you feel gorgeous. We source the most beautiful and sustainable fabrics possible to bring those designs to life quickly, that don't come at a huge cost to you or the planet.
When selecting fabrics, we take into consideration water input, energy input, land use, eco-toxicity, greenhouse gas emissions, human toxicity, availability and price. Consumers can have the assurance that their fashion choices are not contributing to an adverse impact on the environment.
We also aim to make 75% of our garments with natural or recycled fibers (renewable, plant-based and have potential for circularity) or almost all natural fibers. By 2025, we aim to make 100% of our garments from natural or recycled fibers.
We are not perfect, but we put sustainability into the core of everything we do.

Here are a few ways we try to be sustainable:

PRE-ORDER Products

We have implemented pre-order products to our store allowing us to minimise the amount of excess inventory we produce. This will contribute to the reduction of waste produced in the fashion industry each year.
.
No Mass Production

We don't mass produce.  All of our products are produced in extremely limited production runs.
.
E-commerce
.
On average, e-commerce uses about 30% less energy than traditional retail.
.
Sustainable purchasing
.
We are committed to achieving fair, safe and healthy working conditions throughout our supply chain.  Our factory conditions are of high standards and are continuously monitored - as is the happiness and wellbeing of the team.  All of the workers are paid fairly according to their skill level and role.  We seek to partner with factories who share a common vision.
.
Fabric
.
To keep our supply chain as sustainable as possible, we make sure our fabric suppliers share our sustainability vision and we strive to only use natural fibers.
.
ORGANIC COTTON
.
BCI Cotton and GOTS Certified Organic Cotton reduce /exclude the use of toxic chemicals improving soil health and biodiversity, and its production lifecycle ensures ethical working conditions, must meet a slew of environmental impact criteria, as well as quality assurance principles with stringent review processes increasing traceability throughout the entire supply chain.

RECYCLED VISCOSE

Recycled Viscose is the world's most sustainable viscose fabric. It's produced from certified and controlled sustainable wood sources (FSC or PEFC), where the production ensures 50% lower CO2 emissions and 50% less water impact than generic viscose.

RECYCLED TENCEL

Our Recycled Tencel is completely eco-friendly and sustainably produced by combining wood pulp from sustainably managed forests and cotton pulp from fabric waste. Its properties made it anti-static, breathable, skin-friendly and hygienic, fluid and drapes perfectly on the body, light-weight and soft to the touch, and an alternative to silk.

RAYON

Rayon is used interchangeably with Viscose, a fabric that is made from regenerated cellulose fibres derived from the processing of wood commonly from eucalyptus, beech, or pine trees, but can also be made from bamboo, soy and even sugar cane.

Packaging

Our garment bags and mailers are made from 100% Home Compostable. We are currently using The Better Packaging with a CERTIFIED COMPOSTABLE, fully biodegradable mailing satchel partly made from plants, which is totally durable and waterproof.

HOME COMPOSTABLE - AS 5810

Our Compost packaging meets a number of stringent tests for Compostability. The Australasian Standard, AS5810, is one of the toughest to achieve ( They even check to make sure the products are non-toxic to worms ! )

OK HOME COMPOST

The OK Home Compost Certification is another internationally recognised certification that our packagings carry. It is governed by TUV in Austria and most widely recognised throughout Europe.

CARBON NEUTRAL / CLIMATE POSITIVE

As an organisation we are extremely conscious of our carbon footprint. By the early 2020, the carbon emissions is offset by 120%.
